Night To Remember – Wake Up (Full Album 2010)

Satu lagi band potensial yang datang dari daerah Jember, Jawa Timur. Dengan irama pop/melodik punknya, Night To Remember akan mengajak kita melompat-lompat untuk mengikuti iramanya yang catchy dan energik.

Ini merupakan debut mereka di major, sebelumnya mereka telah merilis album sendiri secara independen. Meskipun masuk ke dalam label major mereka juga tidak mengubah karakter musiknya sesuai dengan pasaran umum dan tetap mempertahankan karakter yang sudah melekat dalam diri mereka.

Walaupun bukan dikatakan sebagi band baru yang mengusung genre seperti ini yang setipe dengan pendahulunya yaitu Rocket Rockers ataupun Pee Wee Gaskins. Namun Night To Remember atau disingkat NTR mampu mencuri perhatian kita, dengan permainannya yang rapi dan komposisi yang rancak tanpa menyisakan ruang yang kosong. Sehingga musiknya pun terasa padat. Bahkan sepintas karakter vokal Dema hampir mirip dengan Ucay Rocket Rockers.

Memang musik melodik/pop punk saat ini identik dengan synthesizer yang selalu ada di setiap lagu. Namun racikan komposisi NTR sendiri tidak terlalu monoton dan masih di imbangi dengan permainan gitar. Sehingga porsi melodi pun sering berganti-gantian.

Dalam album WAKE UP ini tak hanya lagu Sorry saja yang menjadi single hits beberapa lagu seperti Tak Akan Terganti, Perbedaan dan Tentang Dia.

Lagu Perbedaan sangat berbeda dan menonjol dari beberapa lagu lainnya. Dengan nuansa elektronik yang kental dan looping serta synthesizer mengisi seakan melengkapi vokal Dema yang benar-benar menghayati apa yang dia nyanyikan. Kita seolah-olah dibawa masuk menjadi bagian dari lagu ini.

Keseluruhan 10 lagu di album ini cukup menaruh perhatian kita untuk mengulik lebih dalam seperti apa mereka seraya menanti karya-karya mereka di album berikutnya. Album ini juga mampu mewarnai kestagnansian industri musik Indonesia yang sedikit kolaps. Sebuah pembuktian bahwa daerah juga tidak kalah dengan ibu kota.
